Directions

You can easily and comfortably travel by boat from Piraeus, Lavrio and the surrounding islands to Kythnos. The route from Piraeus to Kythos is 3 hours by conventional ferry. The route from Lavrio takes 2 hours by conventional ferry. Merichas, the natural harbor of Kythnos, is a very tourist place and is located 8 km from Chora. The cosmopolitan beach of Mericha has crystal clear waters and is almost always full of people. Close to the harbor you will find many shops, restaurants, cafes and bars.

Kythnos has a ferry connection with the following ports: Piraeus, Lavrio, Andros, Ios, Kea (Tzia), Kimolos, Milos, Naxos, Paros, Serifos, Sikinos, Sifnos, Syros, Folegandros.

Transport

During the day there are buses from Chora to Mericha and vice versa but also to other areas of the island such as Loutra and Agia Irini. In the summer the routes are quite dense and regular. Beyond the buses there are also available taxis that take you from the port to your hotel or to the various beaches of the island.
